Here’s a thought, if Ampatuan was guilty then it was the most stupid thing he could ever do. The Ampatuans had been involved in politics for so many years which gives them enough strategies from experiences they had. This event I think is irrational and immature. For Andal Ampatuan Jr to commit this massacre is stupid and careless on his part. Why would he commit a crime which would only put him into a disadvantage? If he had enough neurons in his brain or just simple logic, I think, he could have realize that he would be the primary suspect or be convicted for the crime? Simple right? If you want to win in the election, killing the enemies would not make the public favor you over your enemy. And I think Andal knows that. And also doing this would end his dream, bring shame to his family and lose everything he had.
If Ampatuan is not guilty, then government is just deviating the public to the real culprit of this massacre. I find this much more reasonable since it is possible for someone to commit crime esp if you know you would be the least possible suspect of it. The culprit could have thought that this crime would put Ampatuan into blame and Magudadatu out of the picture.
On the other hand, even if the Mangudadatus have become victims, they cant be eliminated as suspects. We know for a fact that the death of a Mangudadatu would end the dream of the Ampatuans in winning this election which gives the Mangudadatus a sure win. They would have the public’s sympathy for this issue. But to consider this makes the Mangudadatus inhumane for killing their own and helpless media. But remember, whether we like it or not, greed and power can make anyone do evil things either to them, to love ones or to other people.
I think the culprit is someone who gets the best out this issue. The culprit is someone who is highly influential and powerful to pull this act together. Who would turn out to have an advantage in terms of popularity and power? Who could appear as hero in this event? Who is crazy enough to commit such crime? Who would benefit if the Mangudadatus win this election?
I hope the government is not just trying to please the public and the media for this issue by trying to appear that it had solve it. I hope justice is serve to those who truly are guilty of this crime. I think that the government is not seeing the bigger picture in this Maguindanao Massacre. I hope innocent people wont be victims to crimes they did not commit.
